Skin Cancer Care at Hamzavi Dermatology & Dermatology Specialists

At Hamzavi Dermatology & Dermatology Specialists, our experienced doctors provide comprehensive skin cancer screenings and treatment across our many convenient locations throughout Southeast Michigan.

Skin cancer—including melanoma—is a serious condition that can spread quickly and often goes undetected in its early stages. That’s why we recommend scheduling a yearly skin exam with a dermatology specialist. Routine screenings are key to catching skin cancer early, when it is most treatable.

Because it’s impossible to determine how deep a skin cancer extends beneath the surface just by visual inspection, our providers utilize advanced techniques such as Mohs surgery. This precise, microscope-guided procedure allows us to identify the exact extent of cancerous cells and remove only the affected tissue while preserving as much healthy skin as possible.

During Mohs surgery, the treatment area is carefully numbed and a small layer of tissue is removed. This tissue is then mapped and examined under a microscope to pinpoint the exact location of cancer cells. Additional tissue is removed only where cancer is detected, and the process is repeated until all cancerous cells are eliminated.

My cosmetic philosophy emphasizes enhancing natural beauty to achieve subtle yet meaningful results.

We are blessed with our daughter and a playful Bernedoodle who both keep us on our toes. Outside of medicine, I enjoy running, golfing, pickleball, cooking, and spending time with my family exploring local eateries and community events.
